Tim Cook gives inspiring commencement speech at Stanford University.

Following the footsteps of his predecessor, 14 years later, Tim Cook gave an amazing speech to the graduates of Standford university.

Apple’s CEO, pretty much like Steve jobs whose speech at Stanford in 2005 is rated as one of the world’s best speeches. The reference of “connecting the dots” is given all over the world and it’s the sentence that is commonly used by motivational speakers all over the world to convince people that in the future, everything will fall in balance.

Tim Cook started his speech by applauding the ambitions of graduates. He asked them to pursue their mission with humility in life. Speaking about humility, Tim gave referenced the author Madeleine L’Engle who wrote:

“Humility is throwing oneself away in complete concentration on something or someone else”.

He told graduates that they do not have to start from scratch to build something monumental. He urged students to build piece by piece, just like a builder.

In other words, whatever you do in your life. Be a “builder”. Added Tim Cook.

Speaking about the problems, Tim believes they are all human-oriented problems.

Our problems, in technology, in politics, wherever – are human problems. From the Garden of Eden to today, it’s our humanity that got us into this mess, and it’s our humanity that’s going to have to get us out.

Tim also added, “what you build and what you create define who you are”. Silicon Valley is responsible for some of the most revolutionary inventions in the modern era.

if you’ve built a chaos factory, you can’t dodge responsibility for the chaos. Taking responsibility means having the courage to think things through.

The best part of the speech was to give a reality check to the graduates by telling them, earn it first before claiming the credit.
