Bitcoin falls below $13,000 – Australian banks freeze accounts linked to cryptocurrencies

Bitcoin opened at $14,427 yesterday but the price fell to $12,832 quickly and stands at $12,905 at the time of writing this article. This is 12% fall as the current price is below $13,000.

The crypto currency price surged more than 100% at one point but the current price drop leaves the crypto currency up by 27% .

The current price drop could be because of Ripple. It’s price surged nearly 50% couple of days back and the now it is up another 8% to around $2.05.

There are reports that Australian banks, National Australia Bank, ANZ, the Commonwealth Bank of Australia and Westpac Banking Corporation have frozen customer accounts that are linked with with CoinJar, CoinSpot, CoinBase and BTC Markets.
