Become aware of your emotions:

Emotions are considered to be the enemy in decision-making but science has revealed that emotions actually enable you to make rapid and unconscious choices. It basically happens in situations that threaten your survival because a fear leads to flight or fight.

Focus on the main issue:

When you are confronted with an issue, it is easy to get sidetracked by insignificant problems in life. Therefore, focus on the things that actually matter and spend the time to make them better.

Stay consistent with your beliefs and values:

It is good to become aware of your emotions but even then stay consistent to your beliefs and values. Link your emotions with the values you have and then don’t waste time in making a decision.

Seek advice if needed:

Always ask for an advice when you get stuck with a hard decision in life. Seek input and advice from people you trust and do not hesitate to step out of your comfort zone.

Don’t demand perfection:

When it comes to making a decision, you actually have to keep in mind what is available. You cannot wait for a time to make a decision that is perfect. View an issue from a vantage point and come up with the best possible solution to a problem.

Don’t second-guess:

You cannot relive the past and it is just a waste of your energy to do so. Therefore, once you make a decision, don’t look back. Have faith in your abilities and make your decisions work.

Maybe there comes a time in life where you are left with no options to make the best decision, but even then don’t run. Be the one who makes the decision because the sooner you will the sooner you will get on with life.
