Jack Ma Officially Retires As Alibaba Chairman At 55

Last year, it was revealed that Jack Ma is quitting his $427 billion company Alibaba. Today, the richest man in China has officially stepped down as Alibaba’s chairman. He has handled the company reigns to current CEO Daniel Zhang.

Jack ma will still serve on Alibaba’s board till annual shareholders’ meeting next year. He will also remain a lifetime partner of Alibaba partnership. It’s a group that consists of senior management of Alibaba Group of companies and its partners that nominate (positions) in the company.

The one thing I can promise everyone is this: Alibaba was never about Jack Ma, but Jack Ma will forever belong to Alibaba, says Jack Ma.

Jack ma stepped down as the company’s CEO 6 years back in 2013. Current CEO, Daniel Zhang is at the helm of affairs with many rising challenges amid problems such as including, slowing Chinese e-commerce market.

Jack is also known as “Teacher Ma” and he has chosen “Teachers’ Day in China” for announcing his official retirement. No wonder, he always wanted to become a teacher.

Jack believes fearless, optimistic people create the brightest future. Jack has spoken about the faulty education system many times. It will be interesting to see what challenge he picks up after retirement to keep himself busy. Will he do another movie?. Will he try fixing the education system?

Today, the curtain is gracefully pulled down closing the chapter of an amazing journey with mesmerising beats, celebrating the success of probably one of the most aspiring entrepreneurs of our life. A journey of a guy who has faced so many rejections — faced disappointments in life but he never gave up.

It’s a success story of a man who instils belief in others not to give up because he has shown, if you do not quit, you have hope.
