After confirmation of ads to be shown in WhatsApp, one sole reason that prompted original WhatsApp founders to leave their parent company Facebook, now the ads are also coming to the more places on Instagram.
Today, the Facebook-owned company announced that it will soon start placing ads within the Explore section. This section is frequently used to discover the latest content that shows content similar to user interest and searches.
The ads will not appear on the main explore section but will appear as you begin exploring through the discovery feed.
It is revealed that will ads will be a combination of photos and videos, pretty similar to Facebook ads.
“Explore is where people are really open to discovery, and that’s why we’re really excited about this,” says Susan Buckner Rose, director of business product marketing, in a chat with The Verge. She says the team considers “the mindset where people are most receptive to advertising” and that the Explore page made for an obvious fit because it’s where “people come to discover new accounts or people or brands that they don’t already follow.”
