These 6 Small signs point towards intelligence

While talking about bad habits, you are forced to take a hard look at the major things you do on a consistent basis. You are made to think how all these bad characteristics are holding you back from becoming your best self. You have probably been scorned for some of the ill-perceived habits all your life but studies have actually proved that you should be glad of having them. The characteristics that are linked to laziness or messiness, are indicators of a sharp mind and surprisingly, high intelligence.

According to a 2016 research from the AAP (American Academy of Pediatrics), following are the few bad habits that might be good for you and may mean that you are smarter than you think

Chewing Gum:

Chewing gum in public is considered completely bad manners. It looks rude to chew gum while speaking to someone because it appears as the chewing gum is more important to the person instead of the conversation. But studies have suggested that chewing gum has proven to reduce stress levels and helps you feel more alert.

Complaining:

It is human nature to complain when things don’t go as planned. More often the habit of complaining is considered unacceptable. But according to experts, an effective complaint about an issue is something that needs attention. It can be addressed by someone who can come up with a creative solution and can be remedied.

Messy workplace:

Generally being messy is regarded as being disorganized and less productive. But according to psychologists, people who have messy rooms and workplaces, are more intelligent and have higher IQ. It is because if you are messy than your mind is busy in so much bigger issues that you don’t pay attention to smaller ones.

Daydreaming:

People often laugh at someone who daydreams and is considered someone not living in the real world. But according to Harvard Business Review, a study has found that daydreaming for 12 minutes while focusing on a particularly difficult task can help you find the solution to a problem in a much better way. It also helps you to get back to the task with a more refined focus.

Fidgeting:

It feels really gross to see someone tapping their fingers or tapping their foot at your desk. But the UK study has proved that it isn’t as bad as you think. Fidgeting is considered to eliminate the association between long sitting times at work and mortality.

Biting nails:

Nail biting among people is very common and they are often advised to leave this bad habit. But according to a study carried in 2016 from the American Academy of Pediatrics, the habitual nail biters are proven to have lower chances of developing allergies.
