Apple’s idea of experimenting with technology has not come to a halt yet. Right now it is working on its new iPad models which are expected to be launched soon. This time it is not just one iPad, the company will be launching three iPads involving a 12.9-inch, 10-10.5-inch, and 9.7-inch models.
The reports obtained by 9to5 Mac states that the 9.7-inch iPad model will have a Samsung-made A9 processor while the other two models will be powered by the new A10X chip. These different versions of the iPads indicate that each model is created in order to appeal a wider audience. The second-gen iPad-Pro, the iPad Air 3 high-end version, and the smallest model are likely to pack lower-end hardware so that it is available at a cheaper price. But surprisingly, there seems to be no successor for the 7.9-inch iPad Mini 4 which was released in September last year.
The flexible prices indicate of the tablets might be due to the drop in sales. This year the sales are expected to stay between 35 to 37 million units which will be a decline about half to the drop in 2016. Apple is also likely to lessen its production costs and will be increasing its average selling price.
In recent years Apple has not improved its software to a greater level nor has it made any efforts to make its product appealing to the customers. These wider ranges of Android-based tablets with lower costs might help the company to retain its share in the market in future.
Also there are many other devices for consumers who are interested in purchasing powerful devices for productivity such as 2-in-1 Windows laptops. These smart devices include Dell’s new XPS 13 and some other convertibles from Lenovo, HP, and Acer. With the competition sizzling up in the market, Apple should also work on its terminology for its iPads that are lined up for this year.
