What big tech companies pay their interns?

Despite the economic and political uncertainty created by US elections in 2016, many markets across the world are experiencing strong economic growth and an increase in the hiring activity. Recruitment in buoyed by strong economic growth as more international companies are establishing. In a reflection of the recruiting season of 2017 salary data has been analyzed by Glassdoor producing a report of the highest paying internships of this year.

The analysis revealed that Facebook leads the pack with payments of $8,000 per month to interns as average salary. If we convert it into a yearly salary, it yields $96,000 which proves the number is quite high. Internships by Facebook are offered to Ph.D. students on machine learning at Stanford; therefore, this kind of pedigree commands a higher level salary than average interns.

But some of the major companies that pay notoriously well to their employees are Dropbox and Snap are not present in the Glassdoor’s list. These companies offer monthly pay of $9,000 which if converted to yearly basis make up to $108,000 per year.

Glassdoor’s list of most high paying companies includes the organizations that have a high cost of living such as San Francisco and New York City. But in few of the cases, along with benefits, the interns receive a housing part of their package which makes the value of the compensation even greater.

VMware: Median monthly pay is $6,080

Google: Median monthly pay is $6,000

Nvidia:  Median monthly pay is $5,770

Intuit: Median monthly pay is $ 5,440

Juniper Networks: Median monthly pay is $5,440

Workday: Median monthly pay is $5,440

Adobe: Median monthly pay is $5,120

Mathworks: Median monthly pay is $5,120

Qualcomm: Median monthly pay is $5,040
