Samsung Smartwatches will now work with Apple’s iPhone

The long awaited iOS app for Samsung’s Gear wearable accessories has been released by the company. It is a good opportunity for iPhone users who wanted to enjoy this feature without having to switch their devices. It includes Gear S2 and Gear S3 smartwatches along with Gear Fit 2 fitness tracker.

With the development of this feature, Samsung smartwatches have become compatible for an iOS device which previously wasn’t possible. But this does not mean that iOS user will be able to enjoy all features of an Android app. They will only be able to receive notifications, track their S health data, and manage apps.

With the iOS app, GPS and environmental sensors will probably be integrated. But it’s still not clear whether Samsung’s Gear devices outplay the Apple’s watch. Apple’s watch is the only smartwatch that fits in completely with iOS whereas Samsung’s device is more of a conventional looking watch design. Unless the iOS users change their phones, they will have to waive a major part of the Gear experience.
