Prediction # 1 – Virtual reality

This is something Bill Gates talked about in his book Business @ Speed of Thought in 1999 as well. Facebook bought Oculus in 2014 for $3 billion. We have already seen from Mark Zuckerberg live videos on his Facebook account how Oculus works. It surely is a first step towards making virtual reality a distant reality in the times to come. Facebook has already started to explore the tools of storytelling and communication through Oculus. Future seems to be very wild, says mark Zuckerberg.

Prediction # 2 – Telepathy

The next logical step after virtual reality will be telepathy, Mark Zuckerberg predicted. He imagines a future where we don’t even need to speak to communicate. Technology has enable this just for the messaging but future seems to be coming to a point where thoughts and experiences will be shared through Telepathy. This certainly would take a lot of evolution from the point where technology stands right now but definitely not impossible.

Prediction # 3 – Super human

Mark Zuckerberg says he is most interested in questions related to people, how their mind works, how can people reach super Intelligence.

The biggest questions to ask related to the future would be, how do people’s mind work, how do we cure the diseases, how does learning work and how can which supercharge our brain to learn millions times more.

Prediction # 4 – Artificial intelligence

This is already began to happen in 2017 and it it’s turning out to be one of the biggest industries to explore/invest in the future. Mark Zuckerberg used AI to share the platform of Facebook for better future and the company is investing on it. The ultimate goal here is to belt super artificial intelligence systems that they can see or hear things, better than humans.

“If we could build computers that could understand what’s in an image and could tell a blind person who otherwise couldn’t see that image, that would be pretty amazing,” he said.

Prediction # 5 – Laser beams

Mark Zuckerberg has always expressed his interest in giving Internet access to everyone on the earth irrespective of bandwidth and facilities. Internet.org is serving this purpose and is beginning to give free basic Internet services around the world. It is interesting to know that Facebook is using the power of this technology to spread this idea all over the world.

“The idea is that in the future, we’ll be able to beam down Internet access from a plane flying overhead or a satellite flying way overhead — and they’ll communicate down to earth using very accurate lasers to transfer data,” he said.
