Dubai's Job Market: Unlocking Opportunities in a Highly Competitive Landscape

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) city of Dubai has been ranked as one of the hardest destinations for job seekers. According to a recent survey, San Francisco, Dubai, and Doha received the most applications per LinkedIn job postings in February 2023.

An online resume builder called Resume.io examined 130 locations worldwide and every state in the US. It kept track of the number of applications received for each job posting during the first week after LinkedIn’s publication.

According to the specifics, Qatar’s hosting of the 2022 World Cup is to blame for Doha’s ascent as the most competitive job market. To prepare for the competition, Qatar spent more than $250 billion building new hotels and enhancing the infrastructure of ports, airports, roads, and other locations.

In Qatar, each job posting received an average of 399 applicants. The nation also eliminated personal income taxes and implemented a universal minimum wage.

The most competitive job marketplaces, where employees are not obligated to pay income tax, have also emerged in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

According to LinkedIn statistics, the main occupations sustaining the post-pandemic job market in the UAE were mostly medical roles and freelance digital content work.
