Artist Maurizio Cattelan sells banana for $ 120,000

A banana picture has caused a stir on social media this week. A banana attached to a wall with duct tape is sold for $120,000 at Art Basel Miami Beach.

It is titled “Comedian“. The artwork, not sure if it can even be placed in the arts category, was created by artist Maurizio Cattelan showcasing a banana glued to the wall with a single duct tape piece. The banana was bought from a Miami grocery store, according to CNN.

Later, a New York-based performance artist Dabid Datuna ate the banana duct-taped to a wall on Saturday. This was done in front of a convention full of art lovers, the gallery told the Miami Herald.

Well, that was one really expensive snack.
