It could be a disruptive innovation like no other. Students of Michigan State University have developed a fully transparent solar panel. This innovation not only will bring a breakthrough for architects but for the telecommunication and auto industry, it will do wonders.
TSP is a panel that can be placed over a window that can harvest solar energy without any interference. This innovation is a pipe dream for date miners all over the globe. However, the project is in its infant stages and maybe down the road, it will bring fruition.
The process is complex as reported by Richard Lunt of MSU. He said that we can capture the ultraviolet ray by changing the wavelength of the ray.
He said that this captured light is transmuted into electricity using specific designed solar cells.
This development would make skyscrapers living energy towers and in the future helps us stop plundering fossil fuels. As reported these panels can be retrofitted to any building.
Right now the energy output is at 1 percent and the student is trying to increase efficiency by 5 percent.
