The British Council has announced the Scotland Pakistan Scholarships for Young Women and Girls.
These scholarships represent a ground-breaking initiative to ensure that Pakistani women have access to high-quality education to realize their full potential and goals. The Scottish Government has generously financed them.
These scholarships’ main goal is to support and encourage women to pursue higher education, broadening and diversifying the academic environment.
Unveiling the Benefits
The Scotland Pakistan Scholarships for Young Women and Girls will fund BS/MS/MPhil programs that are offered at any university in Pakistan that has been accredited by the Higher Education Commission (HEC).
Benefits given to beneficiaries of scholarships include:
- Payment of tuition costs for certain courses in qualifying fields.
- Assistance with the price of living in university residence halls.
- For students living in on-campus dorms, reimbursement for transport costs to and from their homes to the university is provided twice a year.
Subjects of Study
This innovative program focuses on topics with major societal significance while addressing a variety of important academic disciplines. The scholarship covers a wide range of topics, including:
- Education
- Sustainable Energy
- Food Security and Agriculture
- Health Sciences
- STEM (for Master’s and MPhil programs only)
Eligibility Criteria
Applications for the Scotland Pakistan Scholarships are only accepted from female candidates.
Applicants must be Pakistani nationals currently residing in the nation to be considered. Candidates also need to fulfill the following requirements:
- In a four-year bachelor’s program with the required topic specializations
- Hold a confirmed admission offer from a Pakistani university recognized by the HEC.
- Special consideration is given to young women with disabilities, those from rural areas, and minority groups to promote diversity and inclusivity.
