Instagram introduces a new feature update for Notes, allowing users to share short video updates as Status. Notes, launched a year ago, initially only supported text or emoji statuses.
The brief video notes can last up to two seconds, appearing as a repeating video status visible to your followers or close friends for 24 hours. Despite potential confusion with the existing Stories feature, the quick two-second videos are not expected to replace Stories but rather coexist.
Notes videos have a 24-hour lifespan and can only be recorded using the front-facing camera, excluding uploaded pictures from the Photo Library. To access the feature, users can navigate through their inbox and tap their photo to open the Notes tray. Viewers can now respond to Notes with audio, photos, videos, gifs, and stickers, expanding from the previous text-only option.
