Instagram tests IGTV ads for content creators that may redefine paid promotion.

On Instagram, soon the content creators will be able to monetize their videos. Since 2010 Instagram has been a defining force for social engagements. With a community for over a billion Instagram has defined itself.

On June 20, 2018, Kevin Systrom announced IGTV. A new app for watching long-form, vertical videos from your favorite Instagram creators.

While there is a stand-alone app, You`ll be able to watch from within the Instagram so the entire community of one billion can use it from the start.

IGTV is different in many ways, it’s built-in how you actually use your phone so your video is full screen and vertical. IGTV has its channels and now Instagram has been testing ads that let channel creators test IGTV ads.

Right now, Instagram is beta testing a Partner Program that might enable channel creators to monetize their videos. This news comes from Jane Wong on twitter who posted pictures of IGTV monetize policy. It sounds very similar to Facebook and it should since Facebook is the parent company of Instagram.

Till now all Instagrammers used sponsors in order to generate revenue for their channels. It was a very shady endeavor and most channel creators fell victim to harassment and scammers.

This news was first brokered by “The Verge” in the Last year`s April IGTV event. They were informed Instagram will be the first platform to be fully monetized during the next year.

It, not a big surprise since more social platforms are using monetize in order to generate revenues. But I hope this will be properly streamlined as the number of hackers and scammers or Instagram is way too many. Influencer plan is not everyone cups of tea but I think its time that channel creators get some sense of relief.
