Google Pixel camera can be ported to any device

One of the best smartphone cameras on the market i.e. the Google Pixel uses some complex kind of software for creating fantastic images. It takes multiple underexposed photos and then combines them. For porting that software to any devices that use Hexagon 680 digital signal processor, a developer has found a way. This method can help users to capture their own HDR+ pictures without requiring Google Pixel.

An improved version of Google Camera has been presented by the developer for bringing the HDR+ image processing to any device. It uses a Hexagon 680 digital signal processor. This processor is equipped with a Snapdragon 820, 821, or an 835 processor. Upon testing the revised app on devices such as Samsung Galaxy S8 and LG G6 etc, it was found that the resulting images were far better those that were captured previously.

This software has also been checked for containing any malicious codes but it came out as completely safe for installing. This software tricks the app into thinking that it is running on the Google Pixel’s successor because of few references to Pixel XL2 and Muskie which was previously rumored as a Pixel device.

Although it is a very good improvement, the software in the Google Pixel is designed for the camera hardware in the device so this might not give users a perfect pixel camera. But it can actually make the Google‘s software to work the same way for the images to some extent.
