Double Trouble: Instagram’s co-founders resign from the Facebook-owned company

Just over few months ago, in April, WhatsApp co-founder Jan Koum resigned from Facebook. Back in 2014, Facebook acquired whatsApp, world’s most famous messaging app for $19 billion. Koum just gave one statement at his resignation saying ‘I want to move on‘.

Few months later, today, Instagram co-founders Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger are also leaving the company. These top officials resignation point out to the troubles for world’s biggest social media company.

The talented co-founders resigned from their positions as CEO and Chief Technology officer respectively from Instagram and its parent company – Facebook.

Mike and I are grateful for the last eight years at Instagram and six years with the Facebook team,” Systrom said in the statement.

Kevin and Mike have also hinted towards a new startup saying ‘they want to get ready for a new chapter now‘.

According to the Times’ report, the two co founders, informed Facebook’s top team of their decision on Monday.
