Apple CEO Tim Cook says you don’t need a college degree to be successful

We all feel there is something wrong with our schools. Last year, there was a Harvard study that showed the dangers of early school enrolment. Also last year, we covered Singapore removes school examination rankings. says kids are not into competition.

This time around, Apple CEO, Tim Cook has voiced his opinion about a college degree.

Although there is a debate about why Homeschooling could be the smartest way to teach kids in the 21st century, the fact that there are some lessons and skills that are never taught at school cannot be ignored.

According to Tim Cook, there’s a “mismatch” between the skills learned in college and the skills that businesses need, especially when it comes to coding.

Cook revealed that Apple’s US employment last year was made up of people who did not have four-year degrees. This is an interesting insight into a company that is all set to become the World’s First $1 Trillion Company.

In order to prepare kids for tough competition in the future, Cook believes that it should be a requirement for every kid in the U.S. to learn some level of coding before they graduate high school. In an interview with U.S President Donald Trump, Cook said American students should learn to code before Grade 12.

Cook has previously emphasized the importance for kids to learn how to code. Last year in January, he said It’s more important to learn to code than to learn a foreign language. Cook believes there are some things which the school doesn’t teach.
