6 steps to organize your day for success

Successful people are always great at managing their time. If you want to be like them, chances are that you will also be willing to learn how to act like them. But the problem is that you always do not know where to get started. The first thing you need to understand is that the concept of time is different for everyone. Therefore, everything you learn about time management is irrelevant if you yourself don’t believe that your time needs to be managed. Focus on realizing why your time is important and why it should be valued. If you want to bring a change in your life then focus on being inspired and pursuing your passion first.

Once you realize your time is valuable and where you want to spend it most but still keeping a balance, following are the few ways to organize your day:

1- Wake up naturally:

When you wake up to an alarm, you feel like you are off to the races first thing in the morning. You need to be aware of how many hours of sleep you are naturally inclined to and then try to get that every night. When you will wake up naturally, you will feel no stress at the start of the day.

2- Practice “Me Time”:

When you reach directly for device after waking up, you allow all your power to be sucked upon irrelevant things. Instead, use this time for yourself. Practice five to ten minutes daily on meditation, breathing, gratitude, mindfulness, and journaling. These are the things that will energize you at the start of every day and will keep you motivated for the challenges ahead.

3- Create time blocks:

Sometimes you spend so much time on one thing that it feels like you have no time for the rest of the tasks. Therefore, create time blocks on your schedule. Set a specific time for every task and then make all the effort to complete it within that span. Setting a timer will indicate that your next productive block is starting and you can use it for performing another important task. It will help you complete your tasks quicker than usual.

4- Prioritize your own needs:

People are often seen sacrificing their own needs in order to provide for others. The first thing you ignore about yourself is fueling your body the right way. Unless you are well-nourished, you cannot perform the tasks you wish to perform. Self-care is like putting your own oxygen mask first in order to help those who are in need. Therefore, organize your day and prioritize your own needs from every aspect.

5- Plan for the day ahead:

Planning your day does not mean you need to write every minute down. Just plan three important tasks to be completed in a day. Once you are done with those tasks then focus on any small tasks that need your attention.

6- Go to bed on time:

For waking up naturally, you need to go to bed on time that you have set for every day. Wasting time in talking on the phone, scrolling down the social media, or watching TV aimlessly disturbs your overall sleep cycle. Therefore, stick to your routine and go to bed every day with no screens for at least 30 minutes before bedtime.
