YouTube on Monday unveiled new, lower-cost YouTube TV plans designed to let subscribers customize their viewing experience around what matters most

The company says it will offer more than 10 new plans, all priced below the $82.99-per-month main YouTube TV plan that includes access to over 100 networks. These plans will begin rolling out this week.
While the main plan isn’t going away, the new options give customers the flexibility to pick what they want and skip what they don’t, saving money in the process.
New Plan Options

Some of the new plans include:

Sports Plan: $64.99/month, covering all major broadcasters, FS1, NBC Sports Network, all ESPN networks, and ESPN Unlimited. This is $18 cheaper than the main plan.

Sports + News: $71.99/month, offering sports plus channels like CNBC, Fox News, CNN, MSNBC, and Bloomberg—$11 cheaper than the main plan.

Entertainment Plan: $54.99/month, with FX, Hallmark, Comedy Central, Bravo, Paramount, Food Network, and HGTV—$28 cheaper than the main plan.

News + Entertainment + Family: $69.99/month, including kids’ content like Disney Channel, Nickelodeon, National Geographic, Cartoon Network, and PBS Kids.
All plans still include YouTube TV’s unlimited DVR, support for up to six family members, multiview, and other core features.

YouTube TV is also offering discounts for new subscribers, which could reduce prices further for the first few months or the first year.
Why YouTube TV Is Going Personalized
Customized plans aren’t a new concept in streaming—Sling TV pioneered à la carte options, and personalization has long been marketed as a way to save money compared with traditional cable, where viewers often pay for channels they don’t watch.
However, as streaming platforms added more content, networks, and especially sports programming, the cost of streaming crept back up, narrowing the savings over cable. YouTube TV’s new lower-cost, tailored bundles are designed to offer flexibility without breaking the bank.

Timing Matters
The launch comes at a time of low consumer confidence, the lowest in over a decade, with worries about the labor market and rising prices making people more cautious about spending.
