Stay Connected During Internet Outages with Amazon’s New eero Signal

Amazon’s New eero Signal

Amazon-owned eero has launched its new eero Signal 4G LTE, priced at $99.99, designed to keep your internet connection running during outages. The device, announced Wednesday, works as an automatic backup for users with an eero subscription.

How eero Signal Works

The eero Signal plugs into any compatible USB-C-powered eero device with Wi-Fi 6 or higher. When your regular internet goes down, the eero signal automatically switches to cellular data, ensuring uninterrupted connectivity. Once your primary internet service is restored, the device returns to standby mode.

This makes it especially useful for remote workers, homeowners relying on security systems, or anyone in regions prone to internet outages.

Subscription Plans and Data Options

Because the eero Signal only uses cellular networks during outages, subscription costs are lower than typical 4G LTE plans. At launch, Amazon offers two plans:

  • eero Plus – $99.99/year with 10 GB of backup data

  • eero Plus 100 – $199.99/year with 100 GB of backup data

Both plans offer discounted pricing for first-time buyers.

The device supports multiple major carriers, including AT&T and Verizon, and automatically connects to the optimal network using a built-in multi-carrier eSIM.

Future Plans: 5G and Business Support

Later in 2026, Amazon plans to release a 5G version of the eero Signal for $199.99, providing faster backup speeds. Support for the device will also expand to eero Business plans, allowing small offices to maintain connectivity during outages.
