Google’s AI chatbot Gemini has crossed 750 million monthly active users, according to the company’s fourth-quarter 2025 earnings, underscoring how quickly the product has scaled since its launch.
Just one quarter ago, Google reported 650 million MAUs, pointing to sharp growth in a relatively short time. That puts Gemini ahead of Meta AI, which has disclosed roughly 500 million monthly users, though it still trails market leader ChatGPT, estimated to have about 810 million MAUs by late 2025.
The milestone follows the rollout of Gemini 3, Google’s most advanced model to date. The company says the new version delivers significantly deeper and more nuanced responses, helping drive increased engagement across the app.
CEO Sundar Pichai credited Gemini 3’s launch in AI Mode as a “positive driver” of growth, adding that ongoing investment and rapid iteration will be key to sustaining momentum.
Google has also expanded its pricing strategy. The company recently introduced Google AI Plus, a lower-cost subscription priced at $7.99 per month, aimed at more price-sensitive users. Because the plan launched late in the quarter, it did not meaningfully impact the latest results, but executives expect it to support future growth.
“We are focused on a free tier and subscriptions and seeing great growth,” Philipp Schindler, Google’s chief business officer, told investors on the earnings call.
Gemini’s rise comes alongside a strong quarter for Alphabet overall. The company surpassed $400 billion in annual revenue for the first time, a milestone it attributes in part to expanding demand for AI products. Google has also continued to invest heavily in infrastructure, recently unveiling Ironwood, the latest generation of its TPU AI accelerator chip, designed to compete with Nvidia’s hardware.
“The launch of Gemini 3 was a major milestone, and we have great momentum,” Pichai said in the earnings release. “Our first-party models now process more than 10 billion tokens per minute via direct API usage, and the Gemini app has grown to over 750 million monthly active users. Search saw more usage than ever before, with AI driving an expansionary moment.”
