YouTube introduces its first-ever recap of videos you’ve viewed

Youtube recap feature

It’s that time of year when platforms unveil end-of-year recaps, like Spotify Wrapped. These features let users revisit the content they engaged with the most.

YouTube has offered a YouTube Music Recap for several years. Now, the platform announced a separate recap for videos watched on the main service. This update was shared on Tuesday.

YouTube stated that users requested this feature. The team conducted over 50 concept tests before finalizing the product.

Alongside Recap, YouTube released trend charts showcasing the top creators, podcasts, and songs of the year.

  • Top Creator: MrBeast, for the sixth year in a row

Spotify has yet to release its highly anticipated Wrapped, suggesting other platforms are competing for early social media engagement.

With this launch, YouTube taps into the growing trend of personalized video recaps, AI-driven content insights, and social sharing experiences. Users can relive their favorite content and see how their viewing habits define their personality.
