Grammarly is taking an unexpected turn. After buying the email app Superhuman in July, the company is now rebranding itself under that name.
Usually, when one company buys another, the smaller one gets absorbed. But this time, it’s the opposite — Grammarly will now be called Superhuman.
Even with the name change, the Grammarly writing tool will still keep its familiar brand. However, the company hinted it might rebrand other products in the future, like Coda, a productivity platform it purchased last year.
To mark the change, Superhuman has launched a new AI assistant called Superhuman Go. It’s built into Grammarly’s existing browser extension and can do much more than just fix grammar.
Superhuman Go can write suggestions, improve tone, and even connect to your favorite apps — like Gmail, Google Drive, Jira, and Google Calendar. It can fetch your meeting times, log tickets, and help you write better emails based on real context.
In the coming months, Superhuman plans to make the assistant even smarter. It will soon connect with CRMs and internal tools to suggest edits and pull data automatically.
Users can enable Superhuman Go by turning on a simple toggle inside the Grammarly (now Superhuman) extension. They can also browse the Agent Store, where tools like the plagiarism checker and proofreader are already available.
The company is rolling out subscription bundles as well.

Superhuman says it’s working to add more AI features across its platforms, especially in Coda and Superhuman Mail. These features will help users pull in key details from both internal and external sources to enrich documents and emails.
Over the past few years, Grammarly—now Superhuman—has been evolving from a writing tool into a full productivity suite. With this move, the company is clearly preparing to take on Notion, ClickUp, and Google Workspace, all of which have added strong AI features.
