WhatsApp is rolling out a fresh Android update via the Google Play Beta Program, bringing the version up to 2.25.16.19, and it comes with exciting news for those who love sharing updates.
Resharing Status Updates (Coming Soon!)
A brand-new feature that will enable users to reshare status updates from their connections is presently being developed by WhatsApp. Although not yet accessible, this feature is being worked on and will be included in a later version.

How Will It Work?
If someone from your contacts posts a status update and allows resharing, you’ll see a reshare button right within the status viewer. You’ll be able to tap that button and forward their status update to your contacts—no more screenshots or copying content manually!
This gives users an easier way to amplify updates, such as announcements, events, or anything worth spreading, but only if the original poster allows it.
Privacy First
Privacy is a big focus for this new feature. Here’s how WhatsApp is keeping things secure:
-
The phone number of the original author won’t be shown when their status is reshared.
-
The resharing option will only appear if the person who posted the status has enabled it in their privacy settings.
-
If your status gets reshared, you’ll receive a notification, so you know exactly when your content is being shared.
This ensures that while sharing becomes easier, your control and privacy remain intact.
Still in Development
While this feature is not live yet. As always, we’ll keep you updated as soon as it becomes available for testing or full release.
