Now You can Post a 90-Second Long Video Status on WhatsApp

Now you can share 90-second-long video Status on WhatsApp

Heads up, WhatsApp users — there’s a new Android update rolling out through the Google Play Beta Program, bringing the app to version 2.25.12.9. And yes, it comes with a cool new feature!

With this update, WhatsApp is now allowing some beta testers to upload video status updates up to 90 seconds long. That’s right — no more slicing your video into tiny chunks just to share a moment. This is a step up from last year’s change that increased the limit from 30 to 60 seconds. Now, we’re getting even more room to express ourselves.

If you’ve been following the updates, you might remember that version 2.24.7.6 first allowed 1-minute-long video status uploads. Many users found that super helpful — no need to break a clip into parts, and it made sharing personal updates feel more seamless. The positive feedback pushed WhatsApp to take things further.

The 90-second feature is rolling out gradually, so it might not be visible to everyone just yet. But if you’ve updated to the latest beta version, try uploading a video longer than 60 seconds to your status. If your account has the feature, WhatsApp will let you upload the full clip — no trimming needed. You might also see a toast message confirming the new duration.

Plus, the video editor inside the app will now show the new limit of 1 minute and 30 seconds, making it easier to keep your content within the allowed time.

This change is all about making your experience smoother and more creative. Longer videos result in fewer interruptions and more expressive content, whether you’re providing family updates, travelogues, or entertaining behind-the-scenes glimpses.

Get the most recent WhatsApp beta update from the Play Store to see if you’re a member of the beta program.  And if you don’t see the feature yet, hang tight. It’s on its way.
