Pakistan has started choosing astronauts in accordance with a cooperation agreement the two nations inked earlier this year, according to confirmation from the Chinese Manned Space Agency (CMSA). CMSA spokeswoman Lin Xiqiang described the procedure at a press conference held at China’s Jiuquan Satellite Launch Centre.
Three steps are included in the astronaut selection process: tentative recruitment in Pakistan, intermediate selection in China, and the final choice in China. In the end, two applicants will be chosen for training.
