LinkedIn just made its messages more fun. Now, you can send MP4 videos in your DMs.
Back in 2018, LinkedIn let us attach files like PDFs, Word docs, spreadsheets, and PowerPoints. Since then, they added more file types — images, spreadsheets, even direct video replies.
Today’s update means you can drop in MP4 clips too. There’s one catch: each file must be under 20 MB. That means only short videos — think a minute or two.

Still, this is a neat trick. You can send quick how-to clips, show off a product demo, or give a warm welcome with a personal video. Sure, some folks might abuse it with spammy intros.
But for most of us, it’s a cool way to stand out.
Video watch time on LinkedIn jumped 36% over last year. People like watching videos there.
If you want to grab the attention of younger pros or share ideas with partners, this could help.
