WhatsApp is developing a chat media hub for both mobile and web users. This new feature will organize all shared content across all chats in one place, like
- Images
- Videos
- GIFs
- Documents
- Links.
It’s designed to make browsing media and managing storage much easier.
What the Media Hub Will Do
The media hub will include a dedicated section where group members can view all recent media shared in their groups. Instead of scrolling through long chat histories, users will see all files in a central location.
It will also show file sizes, so users can spot large files and manage storage more efficiently.
Where It Will Be Available

On mobile, the hub will only show media from group chats.

On the web version, it will include media from both group chats and individual chats.
Web users will find the hub through a new button in the sidebar. Clicking it will open up all shared media files in one easy view.
Extra Features

The hub will display extra details for documents and links, like who shared them and when.

A filter tool will help sort files by most recent, oldest, or largest.

Users can also select multiple files at once to delete, download, or forward them.
