A delegation from Pakistan’s National Logistics Corporation (NLC) and UAE-based DP World has unveiled plans to launch a dedicated commercial hub near Jebel Ali, Dubai, named ‘Pakistan Mart’. The goal is to promote Made-in-Pakistan products on a global scale.
The proposal was shared during a meeting with Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan on Wednesday.
DP World will build the facility free of construction costs for Pakistani exporters. This commercial hub will include warehouses, retail outlets, showrooms, and e-commerce fulfillment centers. It aims to serve as a one-stop gateway for Pakistani exporters to reach buyers in the Middle East, Africa, and other international markets.
Several priority sectors have already been identified. These include:
-
Textiles
-
Surgical instruments
-
Sports goods
-
Food and perishables
-
Nutraceuticals
The Ministry of Commerce and TDAP will support the initiative. They will ensure coordination and provide policy backing. The delegation asked for official help. They requested support in selecting eligible tenants. They also sought help in launching awareness campaigns. They want exporters to fully benefit from this global opportunity.
