TikTok is introducing “Shared Collections,” a new feature that lets users share and organize content with friends or family in one place. The company also teased “Shared Feeds,” coming soon, which will allow users to watch TikTok content together through a shared interest-based feed.

From Individual to Shared Collections

Earlier this year, TikTok launched individual Collections, allowing users to save content in custom folders. With Shared Collections, users can now:

  • Organize décor inspiration or Secret Santa ideas

  • Save content from favorite creators or collaborative projects

“Whether it’s content from their favorite creators, inspiration for a home design project, or a new skill they’re learning together, Shared Collection makes it easy for people to stay organized as they discover and save on TikTok,” the company said in a blog post.

Shared Feeds: Watch Together, Discover Together

TikTok is also rolling out Shared Feeds in the coming months. These allow users to discover content together in one-on-one direct messages.

  • Shared Feeds surface new videos tailored to both users’ interests, such as sports, winter activities, or favorite creators

  • Feeds are based on users’ TikTok activity, including likes, comments, and watch history

  • Each Shared Feed delivers 15 videos per day, rather than a continuous stream

The feature is similar to Instagram Reels’ Blend, which creates personalized feeds for friends.

Creating and Interacting with Shared Feeds

  • Users create a Shared Feed by sending an invite to another user

  • Once accepted, they can view the feed and chat about it in DMs

  • After watching all videos, users can see metrics like “Shared Likes,” showing which videos both enjoyed

  • Users select a card, write a message, and send it

  • The recipient receives a festive animation along with the message
