Spotify has raised the price of its U.S. subscription plan for the third time in three years, increasing the monthly fee from $11.99 to $12.99.
The company notified paid subscribers via email, stating that the new pricing will take effect with their next billing cycle. In a blog post, Spotify stated that the adjustments are intended to reflect the value it provides while supporting creators on the platform.
“Occasional updates to pricing across our markets reflect the value that Spotify delivers, enabling us to continue offering the best possible experience and benefit artists,” the company wrote.

The move follows reporting from the Financial Times, which said in November 2025 that Spotify was planning another U.S. price increase in early 2026. At the time, JPMorgan analysts estimated that a hike could add up to $500 million in revenue for the company.
Spotify has implemented similar price increases in other regions, including the U.K. and Switzerland, over the past year.
In the U.S., Spotify’s individual plan previously cost $9.99 per month before the company raised it to $10.99 in 2023. Another $1 increase followed in June 2024, bringing the price to $11.99 before the latest hike.
According to Spotify’s Q3 2025 earnings, the company has more than 281 million paying subscribers worldwide, with North America accounting for roughly 25% of its paid user base.
In addition to the U.S., Spotify is also raising subscription prices in Estonia and Latvia.
