Europe Sees Immediate Price Changes

In countries like Spain, Italy, and Portugal, the Individual plan now costs €13.90—up by €1. Current users in these areas will notice the higher charge on their next bill. While not confirmed, there’s a good chance Pakistan could see a slight increase too.

Why Spotify Is Raising Prices

Spotify says the hike is due to rising costs. Music licensing fees and platform maintenance are more expensive now. They also want to invest in better features and more content. The U.S. and Canada are not part of this update. Premium still costs $11.99 per month.

Q2 2025 Financial Performance

The timing of the price increase follows Spotify’s Q2 2025 earnings report, which showed:

  • 276 million Premium subscribers

  • A $100 million shortfall in revenue compared to its earlier guidance

  • Year-over-year growth in paid memberships

Despite the earnings miss, Spotify’s stock rose by 5% after the announcement, as analysts expect the higher prices to boost average revenue per user and improve long-term profitability.

Other Plans Stay the Same—for Now

Duo, Family, and Student plans haven’t changed. But there’s no word on how long that will last. For now, only the Individual plan has a new price tag.
