Snapchat Introduces $8.99 Lens+ Subscription With Premium AR Filters

Snapchat Launches $8.99 Lens+ for Premium AR Lenses

On Wednesday, Snapchat introduced a new premium subscription tier called Lens+, priced at $8.99 per month. As the name suggests,

This plan is centered around giving users access to exclusive augmented reality (AR) lenses and experiences.

Lens+ includes all the benefits of the standard Snapchat+ subscription (which costs $3.99/month) and adds access to hundreds of special Lenses that let users create, play, and share unique Snaps.

According to Snapchat, the new tier will include Lenses built in-house and by select creators—among them are new AI-powered video Lenses, a Bitmoji Game Lens, and other features. New AR content will be added weekly.

Snapchat says some Lens creators will soon be able to make money from their exclusive content. This gives them new ways to earn. But Snapchat hasn’t shared how the earnings will be split yet.

Since 2022, over 14 million people have subscribed to Snapchat+. This has helped the company make more money. In early 2025, Snapchat earned $1.36 billion—a 14% increase from last year. Most of the growth came from more subscribers and better ads.

By introducing Lens+, Snapchat aims to expand its subscription revenue by offering premium AR features behind a higher-tier paywall. Still, not all users may be willing to pay for these advanced features.

For those who want the full experience, Snapchat also offers a Platinum Snapchat+ tier for $14.99/month, which includes ad-free usage along with all the benefits of the standard Snapchat+ and Lens+ plans.
