Skype Let’s You Send & Receive SMS from Computers

You can go all over the world with Skype as this is the easiest and cheapest way to communicate with your friends and family. Recently, Microsoft has released an update regarding Insider Program and Skype Preview for PC and Mobile. This latest feature allows the users to send and receive instant messages from PC or Windows Phone.

But this is different from sending of messages through Skype’s paid service and it is much like Apple’s Continuity or Pushbullet on Android. This new feature allows you to attach new media and also view your conversations on Skype. In order to get it started, Skype will have to be set as the primary SMS program from the app settings of your Windows Phone.

According to Microsoft, in the coming months it plans to bring the SMS relay to the public. It will also include other features and improvements. Among all the features it will also includes a hiding conversation tool, an add contact button and the users will easily set up calls directly from websites.

Improved messaging:

The latest Skype features are also going to improve the message sent status, copy and paste quoted messages, preview a URL in chat, read/unread the line indicator, keyboard shortcuts, drag and drop of files and photos, drag and drop of URLs from browsers along with video messaging.

Easier calling:

It will become much easier to start call or conversation even from the profile page, no matter if the initiator leaves the group calls will continue, audio/video device settings, and loudspeaker improvements.

Additional Windows Mobile Updates:

The Skype video calls will default to loud speaker for video calls, transparent tiles with improved back button navigation.
