The Sindh government is setting up its very first Special Technology Zone (STZ) in Karachi. It’s going to be built on 500 acres in Education City, Gadap.
This zone will bring in industries that are shaping the future, like automation, health tech, cybersecurity, agri-tech, blockchain, 5G, and clean energy. Consider it Sindh’s answer to global tech centers like Silicon Valley.
According to Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar, the special assistant to the chief minister on investment, eight local and international investors have already shown strong interest in the project. Their involvement could fast-track the zone’s growth.

One of the big goals is to link universities with the tech world. That means more jobs for skilled workers and better education and training for students across Sindh.
A master plan is already in progress. Once things get rolling, the zone will boost research, drive innovation, and help launch new technologies. It will also open doors for local businesses to collaborate with international firms and universities.
This is a big move for Sindh. It’s not just about tech—it’s about building a smarter economy. If done right, this zone could turn Sindh into a major player in Pakistan’s tech future.
