Punjab Launches Free Higher Education Program for Laborers' Children

In a bold effort to lift working-class households, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has rolled out a free higher education program for children of registered factory and mine workers across the province.

Under the scheme, qualifying students will gain fully funded admission to COMSATS University Islamabad and its seven campus sites in Lahore, Abbottabad, Wah Cantt, Attock, Sahiwal, Vehari, and Islamabad.

The Punjab government will cover every penny of tuition, making sure money never blocks a bright, deserving learner from stepping onto campus.

This move sits inside a larger pledge to fairness in schooling and extra help for labor families. The offer also reaches the children of deceased or disabled workers, because each child deserves the same shot at success.

To make things simple, the Punjab Workers Welfare Fund, acting on the Chief Minister’s direct orders, is already taking applications.
