As part of this digital drive, 200 locally assembled smartphones will also be given away. These phones are provided by mobile manufacturers and will be distributed to female SIM card holders through a computerized lottery. The offer applies across Pakistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB).

PTA has reaffirmed its mission to connect Pakistan and empower citizens through digital access.

This announcement comes at a major moment in Pakistan’s telecom journey—the country has now crossed 200 million telecom subscribers. Out of these, over 125 million are broadband users, and 15 million are connected through Fiber to the Home (FTTH).

To celebrate this milestone, PTA and mobile operators are giving all users 2 GB of free data and 200 on-net minutes on June 20, 2025. To activate this special package, users can simply dial *2200#.

In addition, a larger Digital Outreach Program has been launched with PTCL, Ufone, and the Ministry of IT. This program includes setting up internet facilities and distributing free laptops in selected universities located in Balochistan and merged districts.
