During the Digital Foreign Direct Investment (DFDI-2025) summit on Tuesday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif declared that Pakistan had obtained new foreign investment pledges for its technological sector totaling over $700 million.
Considering that 60% of the population is youthful, proficient in cutting-edge technology like Artificial intelligence, and actively promoting economic growth, the country’s leader said that Pakistan was prepared to lead the digital future.
Remittances from Pakistanis living abroad totaled $4.1 billion in March alone, highlighting the potential influence of the digital economy.

He recognized the continued partnership with the Chinese company Huawei, which presently provides 200,000 pupils with yearly technical training. Additionally, the prime minister urged investors from North America and other areas to get involved. The premier expressed particular gratitude to a Russian businessman and a Pakistani entrepreneurial who have pledged to investing $500 million in Pakistan’s economy.
Additionally, the government has pledged to provide all local and international IT investors with complete facilities.
The prime minister reiterated his dedication to creating a digital economy that may revolutionize industries like exports and agriculture.
Deemah AlYahya, the chief executive of the Digital Cooperation Organization, praised Pakistan’s digital initiatives during the conference, noting that the country’s 142 million broadband users and 65 percent smartphone adoption are now reliable signs of progress.
