December 19, 2025 (MLN): Pakistan must adopt Artificial Intelligence (AI) strategically. The goal is to accelerate development, modernize governance, and transform the information ecosystem. This was stated in a press release.
Parliamentary Secretary for Information & Broadcasting, Barrister Danyal Chaudhry, shared these remarks. He spoke as the chief guest at the AI X Future Summit 2025 at Bahria University. Educators, policymakers, media professionals, and students attended. The event highlighted a cross-sector focus on AI adoption.
Chaudhry said AI is no longer distant or theoretical. It is a defining force that can reshape the economy, public sector, and information systems. Responsible AI use is vital. It can improve governance, increase transparency, and boost economic competitiveness.

Under the National Economic Transformation Plan (Uraan Pakistan 2024–2029), the government is focusing on digital innovation. Technology-driven governance is a key pillar of national progress. Chaudhry noted that AI can improve efficiency in public institutions. It can also enhance citizen engagement and streamline information sharing.
He added that ethical and responsible AI can strengthen public service delivery. It can also drive innovation in health, education, finance, and agriculture.
Chaudhry discussed the evolving role of media in the AI era. AI tools can help fight misinformation, improve fact-checking, and build public trust. But these tools need strong ethical guidelines, regulatory oversight, and collaboration across sectors.
He concluded by urging academia, private sector innovators, and government bodies to work together. Pakistan’s ability to use AI effectively will shape its global competitiveness in the next decade.
