Pakistan has taken a big step toward digital progress. The government has issued its first license for blockchain-based high-performance computing (HPC).
The license was given to Higgs Computing Limited, a data center working to bring new technology to the country.
It was issued by the Special Technology Zones Authority (STZA). This move is supported by the
- Ministry of IT and Telecom
- State Bank of Pakistan
This new project will combine blockchain, artificial intelligence (AI), and big data. It’s expected to bring in fresh investment and earn $1.5 to $2 million in foreign exchange every year.
The data center will run on 7 megawatts of electricity in its first phase. This will help make use of Pakistan’s extra power that often goes unused.
Using blockchain in this setup will improve security and transparency. It will make digital operations safer and more reliable.
Officials see this as a breakthrough. They believe it’s an important step in building Pakistan’s tech future and moving the economy beyond traditional industries.
