SUPARCO has announced the launch of a new Remote Sensing Satellite. It will launch on July 31, 2025, from Xichang Satellite Launch Center (XSLC) in China. This is a major step for Pakistan’s space program.
The satellite will help Pakistan observe and monitor the Earth more effectively. It will support many national goals. Such as
-
Precision agriculture
It will help farmers use data to improve crop production.
-
Urban and infrastructure monitoring
It will track city growth and monitor infrastructure development.
-
Disaster management
It will improve early warnings for floods, earthquakes, and landslides.
-
Environmental monitoring
It will keep an eye on melting glaciers, deforestation, and other climate changes.
-
National planning and development
It will also help with national planning, including big projects like CPEC.
One of the satellite’s most important strengths is its ability to gather data under various environmental conditions. This ability makes it a valuable asset for long-term
- Resource management
- Sustainable development.
This upcoming launch adds to Pakistan’s existing satellite fleet, which includes
- PRSS-1 (launched in July 2018)
- EO-1 (launched in January 2025).
These satellites form a strong foundation for space-based research and national development.
The mission supports Pakistan’s National Space Policy and SUPARCO’s Vision 2047. It aims to position the country as a regional leader in space technology and innovation.
