Meet Indian ‘Chai Wali’ who is Australia’s Businesswoman Of The Year

Uppma Virdi is an Indian based in Australia who has started an attractive new venture called ‘Chai Wali’ that has created a buzz all across Australia. Uppma is just 26 and is a legal advisor. Her business offers Indian tea to the tea lovers in Australia.

In an effort to introduce Indian tea heritage to the Australians, Uppma innovative venture has earned her award of Businesswoman of the Year at the 2016 Indian Australian Business and Community Awards (IABCA). The award took place in Sydney recently.

“Wherever I go I make tea… My folks’ main demand is ‘Uppma, make some tea.’ When my sibling got hitched, I think I would have made a thousand cups tea for all the guests. Notwithstanding when I went abroad to Austria on a scholarship, I used to make tea for everybody. It was a method for uniting individuals.”

Uppma has now an online tea store and the tag line is “Award winning tea”. Covered by CNN, Forbes and lot others, the website has a good range of different flavours of tea which also includes and amazing Chai Ice Cream Recipe.
