Instagram just rolled out more comment filtering options — but only for creators with over 100,000 followers.
If you’re in that club, you’ll now see new ways to organize your comments:
- Top Comments—Shows replies with the most engagement
- Newest First—Sorts by most recent replies
- Follower Count—Sorts comments based on how many followers each commenter has
These filters make it easier for big creators to find key comments without digging through everything. The update was shared on the Instagram Creators broadcast channel, showing how creators can now focus their attention more precisely.
In addition to the main filters, creators can also view comments only from:
- People they follow
- Verified accounts
- Paid subscribers
These new tools aren’t just for cleaning up your comment section. They’re also strategic. You can respond faster to top fans, recognize verified users, or prioritize comments from people with reach — all of which could boost your post’s visibility and help you grow faster.

Want to push subscriptions? Use the subscriber-only filter to spot those users first and make them feel seen. Want to connect with influencers in your niche? Sort by follower count. It’s smart and efficient — if you’ve got access.
But here’s the catch: you need 100,000 followers to use these features.
Yes, we know — some creators with smaller followings get tons of comments too. You might feel like you should have this already. But right now, Instagram’s drawing the line at that 100K mark.
We don’t set the rules. We’re just letting you know how it works.
If you’re not there yet, take it as fuel to level up. Because once you hit that mark, these tools could make a big difference.
