Government Bans Passport Issuance for Deported Pakistanis

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has announced a significant policy change to reduce illegal immigration and combat severe crimes, including human trafficking and child abuse.

Naqvi said during a high-level meeting on Wednesday that those deported from other nations would now be subject to a five-year passport limitation under the Passport Control List (PCL). He clarified that the aim is to prevent frequent unlawful re-entry into Pakistan.

Officials also discussed adding convicted sex offenders to the Passport Control List (PCL) to make the borders safer. Naqvi said working with other countries is important. He thanked the UK for helping Pakistan fight drug trafficking, illegal migration, and online child abuse.

He also announced

The first national Sex Offender Register in Pakistan was also announced by him. He called it a big step in stopping sexual crimes.

Reiterating the government’s commitment to combating severe and organized crime, Naqvi declared,

“Every resource available will be used to stop online child abuse.”
