This is the first update to Google’s iconic ‘G’ logo in nearly ten years. The ‘G’ in the well-known Products Sans format is still present in the new logo, but the color scheme has undergone substantial alterations.
The new logo features a gradient design that blends the colors more naturally, providing depth and gloss, whereas the previous one used four solid colors: red, yellow, green, and blue. The redesigned logo also seems more balanced thanks to the gradients blending and color distribution.

Sunday saw the release of the updated Google iOS app, which included the new Google logo. In the meantime, 9to5Google claims that a similar update to the Google 16.8 beta app brought the new colors to the iconic ‘G’ logo on Android.
The internet company has not yet disclosed if the six-letter “Google” logo would also receive the new upgrade. Additionally, Google has not stated if its other products, like Maps and Chrome, will use the new logo.
Although the company has not yet provided us with an official explanation, it appears that Google wants to create a distinct brand identity in a time when the majority of its products are now AI-integrated.

Similar Gemini services can be found in Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Drive, Keep, and Projects. Google Search already employs Gemini to give users AI overviews.
When Google announced a more comprehensive transition from a desktop search engine to one that offers a range of platforms across devices, particularly mobile phones, the business last updated its logo in 2015.
At that time, Google replaced a lowercase white “g” on a background of blue with a circular logo that featured the four colors and switched the style from serif to sans-serif.
