Google has officially launched the NotebookLM app for both Android and iOS, just a day before its expected announcement at Google I/O 2025.
Until now, NotebookLM—an AI-powered tool for note-taking and research—was only available on desktop. With this release, users can now access it on mobile, making it easier to use the service on the go.
The app is built to help users break down complex topics using smart summaries and a Q&A feature that lets you ask questions about your documents and study material.
The NotebookLM app now lets users listen to Audio Overviews — short, AI-generated audio summaries created from your uploaded content. These overviews support offline listening and background playback, so you can learn even when you’re on the move.
You can also create new notebooks, browse your existing ones, and quickly add new sources. Whether it’s a PDF, website, or YouTube video, just tap the share button on your device and choose NotebookLM to save it as a source.
You can also see all the files and links you’ve already added to each notebook.
Depending on your phone’s settings, the app works in both
- Light modes
- Dark mode
Since the app launched just before Google I/O, we might hear more news and features during the event on Tuesday.
