If you’re holding a Pakistani passport and dreaming of a trip to Europe, Germany might be your best bet in 2024.
Out of all Schengen countries, Germany turned out to be the most welcoming for Pakistani travelers. Last year alone, 20,570 Pakistanis applied for a German visa, and nearly 70% got approved. That’s the highest approval rate among all Schengen countries.
In all, 78,362 Pakistani nationals applied for visas throughout Europe in 2024. That’s a slight drop (around 10%) compared to the year before. But even with fewer applications, Pakistan still ranked 28th worldwide in terms of the number of Schengen visa requests.

Germany stood out—not just for how many people applied but also for how many were approved. It issued 14,051 visas to Pakistani applicants in 2024. No other Schengen country came close.
Across all Schengen states, Pakistanis received 38,892 approved visas. Interestingly, Sweden had the least interest from Pakistani travelers, with just 215 applications submitted.
Here’s some more good news: visa rejections went down in 2024. Approval rates are improving, which means it’s becoming a little easier for Pakistanis to get the green light for their European trips.
So, if Europe is on your bucket list, start with Germany.
