In a written response to the National Assembly, “Minister of Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja” predicted that by the finish of this year, there will be 45 Million gamers on the internet in Pakistan.
According to the minister, a tech-savvy youth population, better digital infrastructure, and broad smartphone use are all contributing to the local gaming industry’s explosive growth.
There are already more than 34 million confirmed internet gamers in the nation. The market is dominated by mobile gaming, with 60% of consumers playing on mobile devices, 30% on PCs, and 10% on consoles. In an attempt to increase their financial returns, local game creators are concentrating more on international markets.
The worldwide video game market was estimated by the IT ministry to be worth $227.6 billion in 2023, whilst the Animation, which is located Gaming, and Graphics market as a whole was valued at $626 billion in 2022. According to industry forecasts, the entire combined market is expected to reach over $1 trillion by 2030. Due to its affordability and ease of use, mobile gaming—which held a 52% market share in 2022—keeps going to drive this global boom.
According to a 2022–2023 study by the Pakistan Software Houses Association (P@SHA), the animation, gaming, and graphic industry in Pakistan generates $300 million in total income, of which $157.9 million is exported. The industry includes 257 businesses and employs more than 12,000 people.

The manufacturing sector raised $36 million in total during the financial year 2022–2023.
The minister explains that the establishment of Centers of Expertise in Gaming and Animation (CEGA) in Karachi and Lahore is one of the measures that the government is doing to assist the sector. The center, which has a budget of Rs. 2.5 billion and is supported by the Ministry of IT and Telecom’s Ignite National Technology Fund, intends to teach ten thousand people over the course of five years and foster companies.
